This place is exactly what you would want in a rock shop. Lots and lots of dusty shelves loaded with rocks - some big, some small, some rough, some cut into slabs. Also drawers full of smaller stones, some polished. And lapidary and jewelry making tools and supplies. And lots of other random stuff. You can hear the cabbing and cutting machines running in the back. We spent a delightful hour wandering the aisles. The owner was happy to tell us the story of anything that caught our attention.

This is a shop full of wonders! They display museum pieces as well as a variety of rocks from all over the world, in states from raw to faceted and polished. I went in to get some geodes opened, and decided this place is worth a full afternoon of exploring and listening. Jack and Ben, father and son, were full of stories and expertise. The place across the street has delicious milk shakes, so it's a complete trip! Beware: they're not open Saturdays when the weather is nice because they, of course, are on an expedition.

I visited the shop with my grandkids today and Jak the owner spent almost an entire hour showing us around the shop. It was very fun and interesting and the kids loved it. After Jak finished showing all the cool rocks, gems, fossils, bones, etc. he let the kids pick out some polished rocks, crystals, arrow heads and even some pieces of fossilized dinosaur bones to keep for free!! What a fun shop. I'd highly recommend going if you're interested in rocks. Jak also sells a book he made that gives you exact directions to hundreds of rockhounding sites around Utah. If you bring in a Utah Road and Recreation Atlas, they will highlight all the known rockhouding sites in the atlas.

What an amazing place! This is the real deal. A lot more βrawβ than some others in the area. OG rock hounders that are on site cutting and tumbling rocks. They have a lifetime of an authentic rock collection and really know their stuff. The owner was so sweet and told us all about these amazing finds. There are some tumbled rocks, chakra crystals, points, and jewelry.

Every time I go I find something beautiful. You can find polished rocks and rough stones in lots of varieties. They also sell a lot of lapidary supplies and equipment. Jack and Ben are knowledgeable and willing to help answer all of my questions. I always feel welcome when I shop at Simple Elegance.
